The second edition of Independent took place on three floors of the old DIA Chelsea space at 548 West 22nd Street from March 3rd-6th. With over 40 international galleries presenting solo and group exhibits, the Independent's layout catered to "the spacial and curatorial concerns" of its participants. Open to the public, the free-of-charge fair brought in huge crowds on its opening night Thursday, making snapping pics a little difficult. Also tricky—the lack of labels, so identifying artists and works (and sometimes galleries) was a bit of a challenge.
