Happy Women's History Month! In honor of the month, Affirmation Arts (523 West 37th Street) presents 31 Women in Art Photography, a 5-week exhibit featuring thirty-one "of the most innovative women in new art photography," (from Affirmation Arts' website). Curated by Charlotte Cotton, the Creative Director of the National Media Museum in Bradford, England, and Jon Feinstein, co-founder and Curatorial Director of Humble Art Foundation, a New York non-profit that promotes new photo-based artists, the exhibit features one work by thirty-one new photographers, each selected from open submissions. The impressive pieces range from portraits, still lifes, nature scenes, to abstract imagery. 31 Women in Art Photography is a wonderful way to celebrate Women's History Month and to check out thirty-one emerging, talented women photographers.
